UNHLPF closes - Trade unions call for tax justice, public policies and democratic governance

The United Nations 2017 High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development closed on Wednesday 19 July in New York, with trade union and civil society activists criticizing a piecemeal approach to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Activists are particularly concerned by the growing gap between aspirational goals and a lack of proper and comprehensive means of implementation.

This policy brief on Sustainable Development Goals was produced for the PSI Executive Board EB-148 held at the ILO in Geneva (Switzerland) on 19-20 May 2016. Its objective is to inform EB-148 of activities in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Financing for Development (FfD) since EB-147, that took place in Geneva (Switzerland) in May 2015, and to inform EB-148 of proposed action on SDGs/FfD for 2016. United Nations Public Service Forum and Awards Ceremony 2017

ILO Experts Meeting on Unions’ Action to Promote Decent Work for Persons with Disabilities

PSI will be participating in this ILO conference on "Decent Work for Persons with Disabilities". The conference aims to disseminate research and raise awareness on inclusion of persons with disabilities and the relation between this and decent work. The conference will be looking to identify ways forward for both trade unions and the ILO itself.
