Energy democracy and the climate agenda

03 July 2015
PSI and affiliates, along with a number of national union confederations and some industrial and private sector unions met in New York on 29 June 2015 to advance the programme on energy democracy and energy and the climate agenda.

The Trade Union Climate Summit brought together 75 people from 13 countries in New York City. PSI was represented by Deputy General Secretary David Boys, who led the 1st panel on preparations for COP21 in Paris.

The main call of the Trade Unions for Energy Democracy network is for public, democratic ownership and management of energy systems, along with an aggressive de-carbonisation of the energy chain.
