After years of campaigning by a coalition of unions, the Philippines Government has agreed to implement Convention 151 of the International Labour Organsiation, assuring government workers the right to unionise.

Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte announced he will sign and endorse to the Senate the ratification of the Convention after a labor dialogue held on May 1, 2017 at the People's Park, Davao City.
