Public Services International (PSI) and the European Federation of Public Service Unions, (EPSU) will be participating in the 68th session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Committee for Europe, taking place in Rome (Italy) from 17-20 September, as a non-State actor in official relations with the WHO.

Global Dialogue Forum on Employment Terms and Conditions in Tertiary Education (Geneva)

The Forum will examine employment terms and conditions, professional rights and social dialogue mechanisms, including collective bargaining and collegial governance in tertiary education, with the aim of adopting points of consensus, including recommendations for future action by the International Labour Organization and its Members.

Forced labor down in spring cotton work, systemic problems remain

For the first time in years, public sector workers were not forcibly mobilized to plant and weed cotton in Uzbekistan in spring 2018, although serious structural problems in the cotton sector threaten to undermine this development. The Uzbek-German Forum, a Cotton Campaign member, released these findings in a report published today.

Gender and trade coalition

PSI endorsed the unity statement and joined the gender and trade coalition, a feminist alliance for trade justice initiated by feminist and progressive activists. The coalition puts forward feminist trade analysis and advocates for equitable trade policy.
