On 6 June over 50 thousand trade union members and workers from all over Ukraine gathered in Kyiv for the All-Ukrainian Protest March. Under the slogan «EUROPEAN PRICES - EUROPEAN WAGES!», they rallied near the Parliament and Government houses, protesting against the shock increases in gas price and communal tariffs.

Public Services International (PSI) Steering Committee met on 17 and 18 November to assess progress since the last Executive Board and to decide on further priorities and activities. The Steering Committee endorsed a budget and associated work plan to aggressively pursue a far-reaching programme the success of which will require support and participation from all unions.

On 25 September, the UN’s new 2030 Agenda was adopted in the presence of the world’s top leaders at a special session of the Annual General Assembly of the United Nations. This year also marks the 70th Anniversary of the UN, which lends additional momentum to this new global agenda for sustainable development, which should lead the world out of poverty and save our planet.

At the occasion of the Extraordinary EU Justice and Interior affairs Council on 14 September, Public Services International, representing 20 million public service workers across the globe, and the European Public Service Unions, representing 8 million public service workers across Europe reiterate our call for European solidarity, dignity and coherence on the refugee crisis.
