November 14: Day of action and solidarity for a Social Compact for Europe

08 November 2012
November 14 will be a day of action and solidarity all over Europe. Get the overview of the national actions taking place.

The austerity measures are dragging Europe into economic stagnation and a continuous dismantling of the European social model.

The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is calling for a change of direction: "Words are no longer enough, we need action to deliver sustainable growth and quality jobs. This is a social emergency."

The ETUC calls for a day of action and solidarity across Europe on November 14 in order to mobilise the European trade union movement behind the ETUC policies set out in the ‘Social compact for Europe.

The Action Day on November 14 will include several types of actions: strikes, demonstrations, rallies as well as designed to raise awareness.
