Guatemala: Health workers demand implementation of collective agreement

29 August 2014

PSI affiliate, the National Union of Health Workers of Guatemala (SNTSG), and the Frente Nacional de Lucha [SP](FNL), organised a rally on 28 August in Guatemala City.

All PSI affiliated unions in Guatemala participated in the rally that mobilised 25,000 people. They demanded a budget increase and the implementation of their collective agreement.

The unionists have warned that if their demands are not met, they will carry out further actions from 2 September. They are calling for the Minister of Health to step down and will organise a national strike if no progress is made.
