Push for 2 million signatures in Europe

23 July 2013
Water is a human right
With only seven weeks left to go, the European Citizens’ Initiative has collected over 1.7 Million signatures and has achieved success in twelve countries. Greece, Italy and Spain have joined the list of countries where they campaigned successfully.

Please sign on, we need your help to reach 2 million signatures by 9 September 2013.

The latest figures by country and the minimum number of signatures required per country can be seen on the right2water website: http://www.right2water.eu/node/37/view .

The goal is 2 Million signatures by 9 September. Please continue to promote the ECI “Water is a human right!” among your friends and colleagues, at places where people meet and through social media. By collecting more signatures, more pressure can be put on the European Commission to get our proposals turned in European legislation. Each signature counts.

Water and sanitation are a human right! Water is a public good, not a commodity! Many millions of people continue to be deprived of clean, safe and affordable water and sanitation, even in Europe. The European Commission can do something about it, but WE have to put it on their agenda.

You can sign online at: www.right2water.eu. Click “SIGN NOW” and select your language and country. Signature forms to sign on paper are available for each country on the right2water website http://www.right2water.eu/signature-forms.  They have the “Water is a human right!” logo and a return address on it.
