PSI calls on its affiliates to support United Nations humanitarian aid workers and fairness for frontline workers. They provide relief in war-torn and devastated regions such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Yemen and Somalia.

Despite referring to his staff as ‘the heart and soul’ of the UN in a recent speech welcoming Pope Francis to UN headquarters, Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the UN, is now expected to approve these damaging cuts to that very same ‘heart and soul’.
We need to deliver a message to all UN Member States and their representatives, who are expected to vote on the pay cuts later this year, the 70th anniversary of the UN. We need to show them, and Ban Ki-Moon, that the frontline humanitarian aid workers they employ deserve respect, support and a fair deal.
