Ireland is currently holding the presidency of the EU and is trying to use the opportunity to put pressure on EU institutions and member states. Last year the EU promised to do a deal on bank debt. But nothing has been done. We’ll never have a sustainable recovery without a deal on this unfair debt. That’s why trade unions and others are demanding that the EU keeps its promise.
