Perú: un atentado directo contra el ejercicio de la libertad sindical
La Internacional de Servicios Públicos (ISP) ha escrito al Presidente del Directorio del Servicio de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Arequipa (SEDAPAR S.A.) para hacer conocer su consternación, preocupación y firme rechazo por la actitud asumida por esta empresa al no querer reconocer la licencia sindical que por legítimo derecho corresponde al compañero
Luis Isarra Delgado, actual Secretario General Adjunto de nuestra afiliada, la Federación Nacional de Trabajadores del Agua Potable y Alcantarillado del Perú (FENTAP) y miembro del sindicato del personal SUTEPSAR. Luis Isarra con su férrea decisión y profunda convicción ha liderado la resistencia a la privatización de los servicios de agua potable y alcantarillado, el
derecho humano al acceso al agua segura y la participación de la sociedad civil en la administración de los bienes comunes a lo largo y ancho de la nación.
El gobierno peruano, a través de la empresa SEDAPAR, pretende arrebatarle la licencia sindical a Luis Isarra violando toda norma y convenios suscritos. Ha llegado al colmo de ofrecer 7 licencias sindicales permanentes para su sindicato a cambio de que firmen la anulación de la licencia sindical de Luis Isarra.
La ISP pide a sus afiliadas que envíen cartas de protesta similares.
PSI has written to the President of the Peruvian public water utility, Servicio de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Arequipa (SEDAPAR S.A.), to protest against the fact that the company is threatening to revoke the accreditation of Luis Isarra Delgado as a trade union representative and therewith his right to time off to perform trade union duties. Luis Isarra, Deputy General Secretary of PSI
affiliate the National Federation of Water Service Workers (Federación Nacional de Trabajadores del Agua Potable del Perú - FENTAP), and member of staff union SUTEPSAR, is a very active trade union leader, who has been very vocal in his opposition to the Peruvian government's plans to privatise water services. He has been active at national and international level in defending water as a
human right. By agreement between Luis Isarra's union, SUTEPSAR and his employer SEDAPAR S.A, Luis Isarra had benefited from paid time off for trade union duties and activities. Now, under pressure from the Peruvian Government, the company is seeking to revoke Luis Isarra's accreditation and has even made an offer to the union to grant 7 new accreditations should the union agree to the withdrawal
of Luis Isarra's accreditation.
Affiliates are invited to send a similar letters of protest.
